Terms & Conditions

1. Who we are
Bid Buddy is a web-based estimate calculator and proposal tool ("the Service") provided by Rebecca Stephens ("Bid Buddy", "we", "us", "our"), a sole proprietor trading as Bid Buddy. By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you are contracting with Rebecca Stephens.
2. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or continuing to use the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You confirm that you are of legal age and, if using the Service on behalf of a business, that you have authority to bind that business.
3. What the Service does
Bid Buddy helps independent contractors, handymen, remodelers and DIY users estimate job costs, calculate bid prices and margins, save reusable templates, and generate client-ready proposals. All calculations and AI-generated documents are provided as estimates and drafts only — you are responsible for reviewing and verifying every number and every word before sending anything to a customer.
4. Accounts and credentials
You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive purpose;
- send spam, harass others, or infringe anyone's intellectual property rights;
- probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, introduce malware, or attempt to bypass any security or rate-limiting mechanism;
- scrape, copy, or resell the Service or its underlying data, or reverse engineer any part of it;
- use AI features to generate content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or designed to deceive a customer about material facts.
6. AI-generated content
Bid Buddy uses AI to help draft estimates and proposals. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete. You are solely responsible for the prompts you enter, for verifying the accuracy of any output, and for making sure you have the rights to any content you input. AI output is not legal, tax, financial, or professional advice. We may filter, restrict, or refuse to generate outputs that violate these Terms.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, and documentation, is owned by Bid Buddy and protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service within the plan you have selected. You retain ownership of the job data and proposal content you enter; you grant us a limited license to host and process that content solely to provide the Service to you.
8. Subscriptions, payments and taxes
Paid plans (including the Bid Buddy Pro subscription at $9.99/month) renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms.
9. Refunds
See our Refund Policy. Refunds are processed by Paddle.
10. Service availability
We work to keep Bid Buddy available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. Features may change or be discontinued as the product evolves.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay, present a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly or seriously violate our acceptable-use rules. On termination, your right to use the Service ends and we may delete your data after a reasonable export window.
12. Warranties and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold Bid Buddy harmless from any claim arising out of your content, your use of the Service in violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Rebecca Stephens resides, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
